Asian Webmaster
This blog leans towards the experience of when a member joins an Asian dating site, however, the other side of the coin that makes the site tick is the person who runs it.
I have done both — found love on an Asian dating site and I’m now running several Asian dating sites as the webmaster. Finding love was a journey. It was a search to find someone who I can love for the rest of my life. I found her and in turn I wanted to provide a place where others could find the same happiness I did. Hence, I became an Asian Dating Webmaster.
Running a site has its ups and downs, but the rewards of members finding love on your site makes the downs worth it. Probably the biggest obstacle of running a dating site is marketing. When a member is searching for love, it is called “networking your profile”. In many ways, marketing your site is very similar to networking. You want to get the word out (network) so people looking for love can find your site, just like a member wants to get the word out that they are available and searching for love. For that matter the similarities between a member searching for love on an Asian dating site and a webmaster running an Asian dating site can run parallel in their quest to succeed. You can’t put a site on the net and walk away expecting it to make money. You have to work at success until you find it or it finds you. |
| Networking | One of the most powerful ways to find love is to network your profile. Our site provides several ways for members to network their profile. If you are running a dating site, you have to let the world wide web know you exists by networking the site. |
| Effort | When you are looking for love, you are bound to have both good and bad days. However, you got to keep going forward until you find the one meant for you. If you are running an online dating site, you will have your good and bad days as well but you keep at it until there are more good days than bad. |
| Time | If you are not willing to put in the time to find love than you won’t — you will fail. The same with running an online dating site. You have to put in the time, day in and day out, or you will fail. |
| Persistence 2 | If you find love and/or marry, you still have to work at it. You can’t say “ok, I found love, now I can stop working at it.” The same with running an online dating site. If you do reach a level of success, you can’t just sit on your laurels and expect your site to keep succeeding. You have to consistently be persistent for your site to stay successful. Granted, it may be a little easier, but if you become lazy, the love or success you worked so hard to achieve will slip away. |
As you can see in the above table, both searching for love and running a website has a lot in common. Hardly a day doesn’t go by where I don’t have to make a conscious effort to keep my sites going. A lot of that effort goes into marketing (networking) the site which, for most webmasters, means we pay a lot of attention to google.
Google is pretty much the heart and soul of any webmaster’s marketing effort. Be it they try to monetize the site with adsense, use google adwords to advertise or trying to get their site ranked high in google’s organic search engine, webmasters focus a lot of their effort on marketing (networking) with google. Hence, a of of my marketing blogs focus on google programs.
